Hey Girls,
I have literally researched for hours online to try and find the perfect infant car seat and stroller. I am leaning towards the Chicco keyfit 30 for the carseat and the Uppababy Vista stroller. The Chicco keyfit 30 has high safety ratings and customer reviews online. I saw it in person and it looks better but together than the Graco snugride. I want a sturdy, smooth stroller that looks sharp. I like how the Vista comes with the bassinet which you can use solo or you can purchase the carseat adapter and it takes the keyfit!!!
I was wondering what you think of these choices. Has anyone had experience with either of these or have any valuable information to share? Any other models I should strongly consider?
I am planning on going tomorrow to check out the uppababy stroller in person. Any tips would be appreciated as I am a soon to be new mama! ![]()
Re: stroller and carseat choice
We have the bumbleride indie (off craigslist) and I
it.
We decided to register for the snugride 32 and the graco mosaic stroller. I like this option because it works like a travel system, but the stroller is light weight and folds up smaller. It's better than the frame because we can still use it as a stoller after the infant seat. We registered for a good jeep stroller to use once the baby is out of the infant seat for when we need a sturdier stroller that pushes great on all terrain.
Sorry, it's not info on what you asked for, but thought I would share our thoughts.
I don't know about that particular stroller but just keep in mind ease of use and weight. You will be trying to open and close the stroller while juggling a baby. I loved our snap n' go and then Peg Perago Aria-OH because they were so easy to use and lightweight, fit through doors without any problems, and fit into our car without taking the whole trunck! A lot of my friends were jealous with how easy I had it compared to their huge heavy travel systems.
Good luck!
This. And I've registered for a Kekaroo Karoo for next summer when we'll be travelling a lot.

I realized this stroller wasn't exactly what I was looking for. First off, the wheel base in the back was really really wide which is good for the great outdoors, but not so good when shopping in a mall. This stroller is HUGE! It doesn't fold compactly and would fit in my SUV but definetly not in our car! I ended up deciding the I'Coo Targo was the stroller for me! It's very similar in style to the Vista but it is a little bit smaller on the wheelbase and folds more compactly and
will fit in both of our cars! It comes complete with a bassinet which is better for babys spine if he/she will be in a stroller for long periods under the age of 6 months. This allows baby to stretch out and sleep. It also includes a seat adapter for an infant car seat and you can attach without the stroller seat on so it makes it really light (like a snap and go). I thought it was a neat feature that the bunting bag (which covers the feet and keeps baby warm and dry when
it's rainy or windy) is stored under the foot rest all zipped up so you always have it with you! The height is adjustable so this will save my back and allow more room under the undercarriage for storage. This also means you can use the stroller when your out as a high chair since it can be put up high. The front or back facing chair was a must for me! Developmentally, kids don't understand the concept of something out of sight is still there (such as mommy or daddy) and this can worry them so having them face the person pushing can be comforting...and i'm selfish and will want to see baby. I can switch the seat to face the other direction later. It also comes with a rain cover which I probably won't use often, but it'd be nice for walks when it's drizzly.
I also changed my mind on the car seat. I was going with the Chicco Keyfit 30 but after comparing it to the Graco Snugride, I changed my mind. The keyfit it heavier and I was told unless I'm expecting an abnormally large child, there is no reason to get such a large infant carseat. The sales lady also pointed out the newborn insert that goes
into the seat and how the Graco one fits more snugly and is adjustable as the baby grows. Graco also has more colors and fabric styles to choose from and accessories like a swing you can snap the carseat into when you're at home. Anyways, the links to the carseat and stroller are below. I am not planning on changing my mind as I have thoroughly
done my research!!! LOL! Just thought I'd share my research and decision with you girls!
