It's been 2 weeks now of this and we're still rolling with it, but whew! I posted about it last week and it seems other moms of 9-10 monthers are going through something similar. cal goes down alright but just keeps waking up and cannot get himself back to sleep to save his life! he's always been good at that by nature - not so much right now! bless his heart. i know it's just a phase like everything else. we've been cosleeping/bedsharing the last couple of months and as soon as we're all in bed together he's fine (well, not quite STTN but he seems to be comforted by our presence when he awakens). it's the beginning of the night in his crib that's proving to be a problem these days. he just can't stay asleep! we're doing fine, just had to vent a bit. he's really becoming attached now, not to mention working on some serious milestones, and maybe teething too, so there ya go!

Re: ...and the sleep tribulations continue...
He is so cute. Have you given him pain meds to see if it helps him stay asleep?
I sound like a pusher, but it's helps us so much to give him pain meds when he trying to sleep. I don't know if it's his eyeteeth at this point or his torticollis, but if he tosses and turns and just can't stay asleep, it works like magic.
Just like everything baby, this shall pass and you'll be onto the next big adventure. Hang in there:)
I know I replied to you last week but our Cal is in the exact same place. His top two front teeth are so about to pop - I can see the white and feel them right there - very surprised every morning that they aren't popped through! The last two nights he's had one wake up where's he's had a really hard time getting back to sleep. Normally, if I'm sleeping with him he'll just roll around and go back out or he'll nurse and go back out. These times I nursed and he was still super restless - he was sort of half asleep and rolling around moaning. Giving him motrin did seem to help.

They don't cry inconsolably when teething, they are just super restless, tossing, turning, a little cry here and there, unable to sleep. Seems fine during the day, more drool maybe, but at night, when there is nothing to preoccupy them, it is apparent. Try it, one dose won't hurt and you'll know if it works. I think Motrin works better for teething.
