Avent Breast Milk Storage

Hi Ladies,  I'm TTC and several of my GFs are currently KU. While looking at breastfeeding, pumping and storage options we were confused by Avent's breastmilk storage set. Is there a difference between the regular Avent bottles and breastmilk storage set?  They look exactly the same!

I tried googling and going to Avent site but nothing has the answers.

Re: Avent Breast Milk Storage

  • The storage set is bottles, rings, and sealing discs. In order to use them as feeding bottles, you'll need to buy nipples and caps. You can also buy the feeding bottle sets with bottle, ring, nipple, and cap then buy the sealing discs on their own. I LOVE the Avent components and have never had a leak in over a year. I use an Avent pump so it was nice to pump right into the bottles DD drinks from, seal them up with the disc after pumping, and then just replace with a nipple at night to prep bottles for the next day.

  • So there is no difference between the bottles and storage system then. Can you freeze the "regular" bottles like you can "storage system" bottles? Any issues with thawing them out? How do you usually thaw them out?
  • Freeze in Lansinoh bags ... a frozen bottle takes a lot longer to thaw. Plus freezing in bottles gets very expensive if you have more than a few in the freezer.
