did you know you were having contractions? We they painful?
With DS, I was having contractions but had NO idea. They at times were painful, but for the most part were not.
I'm paranoid that I will be having them again and won't know. I see a peri regularly (have a cerclage) and am taking the p17 shots but worry about this...
Re: ? for those who have pre-term labor....
Two days ago, I just had this happen. I went to L&D for decreased fetal movement and a decel on the NST at my OB's office. Turns out the decel was nothing, but I was having contractions 4 minutes apart on the monitor at the hospital! I had NO CLUE! Because I wasn't dilating more than 2cm, they gave me IV fluids and Terb and sent me home after 9 hrs. Now i'm concerned that I'm not going to feel my contractions if they start again, and will dilate without knowing, and not make it to the hospital or something crazy like that......
Our silly uteruses (or uteri).....
I was in the hospital last Friday for bleeding & contractions. The bleeding turned out to be I pulled something down there, but my contractions were every 5-6min and were very painful. I was not given anything because my cervix was not opening. I was sent home on Saturday to relax. I had a U/S yesterday & saw my OB, I was still contracting ever 5min & my BP(which I have been managing was getting higher again) so on top of the P17 I was placed on Procardia. Both med's have brought my BP down, & stopped the contractions. I will stop getting the P17 shot at 36 week & also stop the Procardia then as well. My LO is head down & at the cervix opening, so they are thinking that I will deliver very soon after stopping the meds.
I've been through alot with the Pregnancy: Bed rest at 22 weeks after being admitted to the hospital for an Incompetent Cervix, Pre-Term Labor, High Blood Pressure, GD, & Pupps. If you have any concerns you should talk to your doctors. Staying informed has helped to easy my mind with everything going on. If you need to talk I'm around. GL
