What does everyone think about standing on your head or keeping your bottom in the air after sex? ?Do you think it works? ?Does it help the spermies swim up stream? ?Also, Are you suppose to pee after sex? ?Would love to hear your thoughts.

I'm curious how others weigh in on this...always wondered myself.

I do get up and pee afterwards. But I've had 9 UTIs in the past 6 years so I'm pretty religious about doing that to help prevent any more of those.

Both have the same effect. Standing on your head, or having your bum in the air will cause gravity to keep the sperm closer to your cervix. But I'm pretty sure the act of flipping your legs up over your head will cause your vaginal muscles to flex thus pushing the semen out. So if this is the case, I think, that the best thing to do would be have sex while your bum is on a pillow, so when the deed is done, your pelvis is already elevated. I think that makes sense, right?

I think that millions people have gotten KU over the years, and I'm doubting many of them stood on their heads. Laying for prolonged periods of time after sex is a good way to get a UTI.

GL to you too! No, not worried. After a year, I would just like to figure out what the problem is or if we've been wasting our time all along. I will just be happy to have some type of plan moving forward, since I have lost any hope that we will be able to get KU on our own.

Thank you. And yes, we have all been at a point where we are willing to try new things to get KU. But standing on your head? Nope, and I sure don't know anyone who has. Well. except Princess, but that was a joke,lol.

you're question was answered, just not how you wanted it answered. If you hold it in for too long though, you'll get a UTI.

You might want to read Taking Charge of Your Fertility so you can better understand your cycles and increase your chances of getting ku.

You can't just assume you will get specific types of feedback when you post. Some people will laugh, some will be nice. When you post something silly, expect ridicule. Lastly, you shouldn't expect support from internet strangers.

I didn't think it was a stupid questions. There are many different theories and tales out there about getting pregnant. And I agree, after trying long enough you will try anything, no matter how silly it sounds, to make it worse.... My BFF told me to lift my butt and prop it up against a wall afte sex...am I going to do that, No.--that puts way too much pressure on the situation and takes all the romance out of the sex.... But did I ridicule her and make her feel dumb...No.

Another little tale I've recently been told is to be prepared with a cold (cold and damp) washcloth so as soon as he's done you can put it on you vagina b/c spermies don't like the cold so they swim upstream faster. Does it work?? Who knows...But at this point I'm willing to try it.

We got married last August and started trying probably a month or two before the wedding, but super hard...got pg in January and had natural mc march 30th, which was my birthday, day before DH's bday. finally got a normal period after the mc in july and started trying again in August. actually waiting for DH to get home now...it's baby-making time. And yes, I'm trying the cold wash cloth.

I'm the oldest of 6...have a 9 month old brother and DH has twin 11 month old neice and nephew and a few of our friends are having kids--my BFF and my boss and his wife, who are also friends are due in May and June. so I'm trying the wash cloth thing b/c it can't hurt and I will try anything. An important thing to remember is to lay down after sex for about 15 minutes...don't get up and don't go to the bathroom...wait 15 minites. That's what my doctor told me. Elevating your butt won't really do too much unless, like someoen else said in an earlier post, you have the pillow already under your bum.

Don't let the ridicule get to you. The 1st trimester board was just as bad in February and March when I was on it--some of the responses to some of the questions that were asked were downright mean. I stopped coming to the bump mid-march and came back about 2 weeks ago.

My ob-gyn suggested elevating my hips for 10-15min after sex due to tilted ute to allow gravity to assist with getting the sperm to go to where it needs to go. I've never tried it- but I guess it wouldn't hurt anything... maybe next cycle.

I agree that when you get desparate you're willing to try anything. I'm about to the point where I'm going to prop my feet up on the wall! Ha I am worried about a UTI though so maybe just for a few minutes ;o) I think that rudeness is unnecessary even from perfect strangers online. You wouldn't want someone to say that to you if you had a silly question so why do it? Golden Rule....I've known it since Kindergarten.
