Lupron v Ovidrel- Help Please!
I just talked to my nurse. Follie scan today showed one 17.5, 3 13's, and a few smaller. My nurse thought I would do one more night of injections and trigger tomorrow. However, my doc is super conservative. E2 came back at 437, so he wants to trigger tonight. But he gave me two options, which is where I need some input.
Take 1/2 ovidrel tonight. His concern is that this creates a harder ovulation (whatever that means?). May create cysts from the remaining follies. OR
Take 2 half doses of Lupron (one tonight, one tomorrow a.m.). Eases into ovulation (again, WTF does that mean?).
I love him, but he is sooo conservative. I had a different RE last time who triggered me with 3 mature follies, one almost, and I ended up pregnant with a singleton. Given my poor track record, I'd like to be more aggressive.
Anyone know the difference? WWYD?

I don't know anything about triggering with Lupron.
But, good luck making your decision.
Can you just give yourself the full trigger and say you didn't?

Honestly, I would do that. If he wants you to trigger tonight, the full dose will help mature the rest of your eggs. Also, your E2 isn't really all that high to me.
I know. My e2 last time was in the mid 500's, and I was only pregnant with a singleton. My averages aren't that great. The nurse just kept saying "You know how he is- he doesn't want you pregnant with quads."
Thats exactly what I would do!!! Honestly, I dont think it would hurt anything. I would be too paranoid to go with either of those options he gave--afraid it wouldn't work. Those 13s probably wouldn't be mature enough. I would think they would get to a 15 max once you trigger. But then, you never know. You could have some others hiding in there too, that they couldnt really see on u/s (but I doubt it). I would just trigger with the full 10,000what ever it is and not tell him.
If you have quads I will come be your live in Nanny! But, like AB said, I highly doubt your 13s will catch up in time if you trigger tonight.
I am voting for taking the whole ovidrel shot also! I 100% believe that the majority of my eggs not being mature at retrieval last time was due to the lupron trigger. From the articles I read it is more natural but doesn't seem to be as effective at the final maturation stage as ovidrel is.

Microdose Lupron can be used as a "trigger". To my understanding it is creating a pituitary to pump out a bunch of LH quickly, causing ovulation.
