Taco Bell and GD

I know I know.....fast food should be eliminated but sometimes it has to happen.  DH and I have to go straight from work to a breastfeeding class and that's what DH wants. DH would go to a healthier choice if I asked him to but wanted to see if the GD gals on here had any experience with making TBell work within the diet!

Re: Taco Bell and GD

  • It's been awhile since I looked it up but one thing I do remember is that the corn tortillas are less carbs than the flour ones so go with hard shell tacos.  Also, the Taco Bell site has exchange lists on it for diabetics.
  • Loading the player...
  • I haven't had it, personally, but a Chipotle burrito bowl is a go-to meal for me. Mex in general works well as long as you're careful with the tortillas and rice, I think.

    Give it a try!

  • I used to eat 3 tacos supreme with a cup of milk, and my numbers were always low.
  • I was thinking 2 taco supremes - crunch and a nach supreme......over on the fat but should be good on the carbs and meat!!!  we'll see what happens - not sure on the drink choices there!
  • I can do the tacos (two or three) but when I ate a nacho supreme my numbers shot up - there were too many carbs in all those chips.  They have a nutrition calculator and you can go plan your meal out and add up your carbs!  I suggest you do that so you know how many you are eating and if your number is too high, you can adjust next time.

  • I just had this for lunch today!

I have one crunchy taco and a side of pintos & cheese. It comes to like 33 carbs or something.

  • If I have to eat out I go to Subway.

  • You can check out their website and see how many carbs your favorites have in them. I get 60g of carbs for lunch or dinner, so I can get a baja chicken gordita and a crunchy taco and be good. My fave, the chili cheese burrito, is almost my whole limit of carbs, so I've been avoiding it.
