hospital tour?

when did/will you take your hospital tour? we just moved to a new area so we haven't been to the hospital yet. is this set up through the dr.'s practice or did you go to the hospital and set it up on your own? and how far along were you when you went?

I already went for mine like a month ago. I called the hospital's registration department to book my tour.

When we filled out our pre-registration stuff, it had a number on there to call the hospital and arrange a tour around 34 weeks. We haven't done ours yet, but I was planning on calling this Friday to set it up.

took my tour sunday...it was very nice, they even gave us a little goodie bag with Good Night Moon in it at the end of the tour! that is my favorite kids book! My parents used to read it to me all the time when I was little...

Our hospital offers tours. Also, if you take childbirth classes there, they will take you up to the unit after one of the classes.

Ours was part of our childbirth class which we took at the hospital. I would imagine that the hospital has a website where you can get info on these things.

We had one at 32 weeks. It was part of the birth class.

We are going on our tour next Friday night, I will be 35w2d. That was the soonest I could find a day that worked for both DH and my schedules. I'm looking forward to it.

We took the hospital tour around 29 weeks. They walked us thru what will happen on the big day. The nurse told us if you remember nothing else remember what door to bring Mom to when the time comes and they will walk us thru everything else. I signed up for it on the Hosptal's website.

either my dr. office or the hospital automatically signed us up for ours, we got an "Invitation" to tour the L&D wing at 37 weeks....according to friends that have delivered at this hospital before they said that the hospital automatically sends out invites to preggies at 37 weeks to tour.....we opted not to take birthing classes this time because we felt they were a total waste last time.

There was supposed to be one after the monthly "Meet the Midwives" event. Unfortunately, all the L&D rooms were full that night so there wasn't a tour. I haven't decided whether to go back. The only reason I would is so DS could see it. I looked at the pics online and that's probably good enough for me.

I took mine this morning. My dr is just down the hall from L&D, so I just walked over, preregistered, then asked them for a tour at the nurse's station. They were totally cool with me just walking in without an actual appointment.

My hospital has scheduled tours that you have to sign up for. I went to mine this past weekend.
