I did it - 20 pounds in 20 weeks

I will be 20 weeks Thurs and I have gained 20 pounds.  That was hard work and I can't wait until the day I can stop eating.  I've grown to hate food of all sorts and resent the fact that I have to eat but I do feel a sense of accomplishment.  Now how many pounds do I have to go?

  • It depends on how small you were before hand. I was 5'7" and 120-125. By 20 weeks I had gained maybe 12lbs, but by 36 weeks I gained 56lbs! The last month or two was when my weight just exploded.

    ?

    Congrats!?

  • I have gained 17 pounds in 20 weeks and it scarily wasn't very hard to do.  At all.  I just allowed myself to have things I normally wouldn't (like cheese on my sandwiches, an occasional milk shake, an extra snack, etc.).  I should probably tone it down a bit in the coming weeks.  =/

After 2 rounds of IVF & 2 rounds of FET, we were blessed with identical twin girls!

  • Well done!!  I'm pretty close - I've gained 18 lbs and am just starting my 19th week.  I'm with Kimarino in that it (yikes!) wasn't very difficult.
  • Way to go!! Keep up the good work! Just remember it's only a temp. time in your life to indulge--hopefully with the holidays coming up eating lots won't be so hard! Big Smile

the funny thing is that i had those goals, too... and did it... and now I just joined jenny Craig and got the 20lbs in 20 weeks plan! Trying to LOSE it! LOL

  • Congratulations!!!  Maybe 20 more to go, but hopefully it will come on easy now that the babies are bigger?

I hope to be where you are in 8 weeks.  :)

  • Congrats!! It was a difficult achievement for me too. My peri follows Dr. Luke's weight gain goals. She wants me to gain a total of 55 lbs (I think it is 45lbs + 5 for previous m/c + 5 for IF treatments). The most crucial weight gain times are 20 weeks and 28 weeks.
  • Yay!!! ?Congrats!!! ?I barely made it but was quite proud of myself as well. ?Keep up the good work!!
