I'm helping my mom with my shower, and neither of us have the "party planner" gene. Are there any shower games you've played or heard of that were actually fun, or that you liked enough to consider for your own shower?

It's not a game per say, but I have heard about a fun art activity in which guests decorate onesies, bibs and hats for the baby. So, while you provide most of the materials (both Joann and Michaels have an aisle dedicated to it with various supplies like the baby clothing itself plus iron on decals and fabric paints) you make mention of it in the invitations so that guests can bring their own materials if they choose and begin to think of what they would want to do. The girl, who told me about this, said that at the shower she went to someone painted a picture of an i-pod and wrote above it "I pooed" and someone else made a onesie with a pearl necklace. I think it is a great idea and look forward to doing it at my own shower.

I am not into shower games......but here are some "easy" ones.
-Gift bingo is always good b/c you do it while the guest opens the gift....
-Celebrity/baby match-up........just make a list of celebrity parents on one side and the names of babies on the other and have them match them up....
-Memory game. Have a tray/basket full of "small" baby items (nose sucker, nail clipper, rash cream, pacis, etc....), show it to the guest for a couple minutes then have them write down what they remember. Winner gets a prize and the items on the try go to the mom-to-be
-The "craft" idea with the onesies/bibs is cute......but trust me, most people really don't want to be at a shower using glue, paint, etc.......unfortunately most people want to come and go! Think "quick" games.
My sister actually had really good ones for mine this past weekend, everyone liked them - even the "non-game" people. She put the name of a famous mom on each person's back as they came in and they had to ask other people questions to try to guess who they were. It was really fun and is particularly good if you have a mixed group of people who don't know each other that well - gets them talking. First one to guess who they were got the prize, but everyone kept doing it because it was so fun! Then she had a piece of paper with characteristics on one side and a column with my name at the top and a column with DH's name at the top. She took me aside and asked me which ones I hoped the baby would have - it was things like eyes, nose, lips, intelligence, compassion, athletic ability, spirituality, etc. - so I said if I hoped the baby got mine or DH's. Then everyone filled out a form and she read off the answers and whoever got the most right won. She also did a fun thing during opening of gifts to keep people from being too bored - she had a timer and set it at random times - when it went off whoever's gift I was opening then got a prize.
My friend came up with this cute game. She put 10 items in a basket and covered it with a receiving blanket and everyone could feel the items for approx 20 secs and then the guests wrote down the items they remembered. She used toy keys, a bottle brush, pacifier, diaper rash cream, etc...
