suggest boy names

my SIL/BIL are having a boy in January and the only names they've come up with have been these ridiculous, terrible names that would make me laugh and point at the poor child for getting stuck w/ such a crap name.

She has an 18 year old and a 16 year old with very normal names. Her oldest son's name is William and now she's going out into weird name territory with such gems as: Dallas (my BIL is a huge Cowboys fan), Brenner (makes me think of Bruce Jenner), Wake (wasn't that a lovely funeral?) and Tripp (when one "p" just doesn't cut it...).

Throw some good, normal names at me so I can make suggestions to her, would you? (and yes, she has asked for help b/c I keep making fun of her current name list, I'm not that huge a ***.) Oh, and no names that end in -er. Her nephews include our guys and Hunter and Tanner.

I love playing with Nymbler.com. You might come up with some "different" names (Lancelot?) that she might like that are a little less Palin.

HA!! exactly! thanks, I'll check that out.

I'd like to add that these names are just NMS, if you like 'em, that's great, but I'm frankly surprised that my SIL is trying to be so different, not in her character.

Our favorite boy names are Luke, Tyler and Hunter. I also like Reed and Brady.

I don't mind any of the names that they like personally, and unless they are asking for opinions I would probably stop making fun of the names. Even if they are NYS they like them and after all it is their kid.

eh, they know me better than that. she asked for help and I'm doing my part. I think the names they've come up with currently are just ones they're throwing out there to gauge what people think. they know how honest I am and thus, that is exactly why she is asking. you'd have to know me... it's all good. I promise.

Bo makes me think of the Dukes of Hazzard. hee hee.

ETA: actually, it would be way cooler if they named a 2nd boy ghostrider. might as well stick to the theme, right?

My contribution: Derek and Desmond. DH doesn't like the first, but if DC #2 is a boy he will be Desmond.

I worked w/ a guy named Maverick and if it is at all possible, he lived up to his name. He was soooooo uh, how to say, gay (not that there's anything wrong with that) and he was just, I dunno, it fit him PERFECT. He was hilarious! I loved that guy. And I hadn't seen Top Gun when I worked with him, I just thought of Mel Gibson's movie.

In DS's class there is a Colt, Preston, and Xander. I like the traditional names too. Michael, Patrick, John Paul (JP), Jeramaih.

I am sure its all good I am just going from personal experience I am tired of people giving their opinions and suggestions. I am to the point where when my MIL,SIL, Mom, Dad, sister, etc suggest a name I respond "If you like it you should name YOUR child that"
