I had a breast reduction 15 years ago and would like to nurse if possible (and as much as possible). I'm looking for a lactation consultant who can coach me through this...anyone know one?
I don't know her specific area of expertise, but I found her very helpful through my breastfeeding struggles (and ultimate failure). I forget her last name, but she was with Fairview Riverside at their women's health center.
I believe one of the LCs at Mayo in Rochester has knowledge of this. But I can't remember her name as there are several. I don't personally know a ton about the surgery and how it could make things different but i would think a reduction wouldn't add in bf difficulty, i think it could only help!
Re: Lactation Consultants w/breast surgery knowledge
I had a reduction 8 years ago. The LC at ridges is wonderful. She was VERY VERY helpful.
Good Luck!
