Just curious, a while back I read a post on how her milk didnt come in for 8 days after she gave birth, and did not supplement with formula. I though..Hummm?? could i do that? I know that your clostrum comes in and thats all the babies needs, but i think i would still feel like LO would need more especially after a couple days. I want to know what all you ladies plan on doing if BF doesnt work out as planned?

Colostrum is still something.. Babies have bellies the size of a marble or something at that age. They really don't need much.
I will do my best to BF again. If it's too stressful for me, then I'll supplement, but not before giving it my all. Honestly, I was too hard on myself last time. We'll see how it goes this time, but at least now I know not to worry about supply since that's rarely a true cause of BF problems from what I've read.

Only if there are supply issues. If there are latch issues, etc I'll EP while trying to get the BF thing to work.
i might have a thing of formula on hand, just for my own peace of mind... but seriously, you have to just stick with it... your body knows what to do, even if it is taking forever and you and the baby are cranky.
also, i know someone who tried to breastfeed and use bottles right away, and her baby then just got used to bottles and never wanted to nurse... its important to establish the nipple thing early, or they will be confused, and may opt for a bottle.
With my DD... I had planned on BF. She was in the NICU for 2 weeks and they only let me try to BF once... so I pumped and she got that and was supplemented with formula for the rest of what she needed. After going home, I tried to BF but it didn't exactly work out well... so I pumped until my supply went out.
This time, I'll try again to BF... I hope it goes much better this time around. But if for whatever reason it doesn't work out then yeah... I'll be supplementing with formula. I couldn't just let my child go hungry like that.
