What do you think the % is of 1st babies born on-time vs. late

Just curious if anyone has any idea...I have my 40 week appt tomorrow so we'll see if there's any progress. Seems like statistically there are a LOT of women on this board who go over.

I actually know this!! It was one of the trivia questions at my shower this weekend!

Only 3-4% of women have their babies within one day of their due date. So don't count on it!

I have my 40 week appt on Thursday. If I don't make any progress by then my Dr. said she will schedule an induction before the 15th. I hope my baby comes within the next two days, I don't wanna wait another freakin week. LOL

& Before you asked about my doctors, I go to Caring for Women on tollgate and I see Dr. Powers!

Just lurking over here right now, but everyone around me seems to go early. We were 9 days early with ds, and I've know a lot of women to go early with their first. Good luck!

Good question. I have 4 friends who have had their first babies this year and they all went early. I hear first babies usually come late.

According to our lamaze teacher, 10% of first time moms go early and 3% go on their due date, so 87% of us will go late.

I have read multiple places that average gestation for a first baby is 41w1d

I've heard that first-time moms usually go late, but the two first-time moms that I work with went 3 weeks and 2 weeks early, so I'm wondering if it'll be a trend.
