2nd Trimester

Bikini Wax in 2nd trimester

pre-pregnancy, I would get waxed religiously, every 6 weeks. Since being pregnant, I havent been at all. I'm scared!!! My friend went when 16 weeks pregnant and said it hurt SO much worse and wasn't worth it. Thoughts? I realize it will likely hurt worse, I guess I'm just wondering if it's worth it given the other horrible aspects of being pregnant.

Re: Bikini Wax in 2nd trimester

  • Me too, I haven't had a wax since 4 weeks PG... I'm in desperate need, shaving just isn't cutting it.  But I'm totally afraid it's gonna hurt like a b*tch!

  • I have been twice already during 2nd tri for a brazilian waxing. I have been waxing for over 10 years and don't plan to stop now.  It didn't hurt any worse than it usually does.

  • i got one yesterday...its fine. i still say the first one i ever got was the worst. just take a tylenol before you go in. you'll be fine. and plus the end result is soooo worth it :) GL
  • I just went yesterday and it was about the same as it was before I was pregnant.  It's quick, you get past the pain pretty fast.
  • im not going to lie and say it doesn't hurt but i think it is definitly worth it! besides if you alternate shave & wax the hair is more course and it hurts much more, so i say go for it, esp if you've been doing it pre-pregnancy.and also think about how much longer you will be able to see the full area in order to shave...i dont think i would call it pampering but the results definitly make me feel better. so goodluck!!
  • I did it a couple weeks ago. I am a regular waxer and it hurt a little more and I was sore for a couple days after which I normally am not. However it is worth it. With all the other craziness that is happening at least I don't have a "mom bush"

  • I've been getting regular brazilian waxes for the last 2.5 years and I've continued to get them through PG (every 5 weeks or so) and while I've noticed that I'm a bit more sensitive, it's nothing that I can't handle and it's so worth feeling clean.
  • Thanks ladies! this gives me hope! I am going to make an appt :)

  • I thought it hurt a little more than normal, but not horribly. If you get waxed regularly (ie, are used to what it should feel like) I think it will be fine.
