F/U getting restraining order against BM's boyfriend

The judge dismissed our case and said the abuse was "too old." It happened in July 2007. I didn't know there was a two year statute of limitations on child abuse. (sarcasm)

We did file for one in April 2008, after BM dropped the restraining order. That was dismissed because there was an open custody case (BM suing for custody).

The judge (this time and last) said we need to get her visitation qualified so that the boyfriend can't be there when she has SSs.

However, when we asked for this when visitation was being set, we were told the court in the custody case had "no jurisdiction over the boyfriend" of BM and therefore no limitation would be put on BM's visitation pertaining to the boyfriend.

So, now we appeal, for both the restraining order and the qualification of BM's visitation, and see what happens.

That is such BS!!! It makes me so angry for the courts to move so slowly where children are involved, and then make you jump thru hoops. Hello, why aren't they more worried about the kid's wellbeing?!?! This is obnoxious! I wish you well in your appeal, I think I would have blown a gasket in the courtroom today!
