No, it does not. It will slow down a lot because it is getting so high. near 8-9 weeks, it will level off, and even can begin to decline a bit.
I know that with this pregnancy, I was tested at about 6 weeks, and it was 16000, and a week later it was 35000. It took a week to double, but clearly there was not a thing wrong!
With your numbers and this point, I would not expect it to double in two days at all. Do not worry, your numbers sound great.
Why are they checking it again though? You are high enough for an US to show a HB.

We did see a HB. However, they also saw another gestational sac but they couldn't see an embryo in that one. I had bleeding on Sunday and the MW thinks there is a possibility it was from a blighted ovum on the second sac. So I guess if it was I could even expect my numbers to go down a bit?

I have no idea to be honest, I opted out of the hcg testing early on and chose to just wait until 7ish weeks to do a u/s to see the hb. I know it eventually tapers off though.

I would just request another US in a week or so to see progress. At this point, it would be difffiuclt to tell what the numbers mean. I would not have another beta done.
A Heartbeat is a great sign of a healthy pregnancy, and your HcG now can not tell you what the other sac is doing. Only an US can give any insight in to that.

I have my originally scheduled U/S next Monday anyway. I want to be nice and comply with what the MW ordered so I'll get the bloodwork but not put too much faith in it. Thanks for the advice!

You are going to be a mom. You need to not just go along with medical professionals because you are complacent. If you are curious, or whatever, get the test. If it is going to make you concerned, I would avoid it all together.
It may be covered by your insurance, but at some point, you are paying for these tests, AND you are the boss of your medical treatment. There are times when you will need to refuse extra testing ect.
EX. DS had a seizure last week. We took him to the ER. They took blood, temp, CAT scan, ect. Everything came back normal, so they wanted urine to check for a UTI. He had a normal WBC, and no fever. In order to get urine, they would have to put a cathetar in him, traumatize him, and cause him to be fearful of medical procedures all to rule out a codition that they had no reason to suspect he had. We declined the test, but agreed to make sure he continued no fevers, and had wet diapers.
My point is that you should have the test if you want the information. If it is going to make you anxious, and there is nothing that will change in your treatment right now based on the results, I would skip it.

Why are they checking? Seeing a baby with a heartbeat with a ute is way better than a random hcg number.
