the OR board told me to XP here...
Background: DH and I are moving to the Portland area from San Diego by next spring at the latest. (Depending on job situation) .
DH wanted me to ask you ladies your thoughts on Orenco Station...we're trying to explore (online) areas we'd be interested in looking, and this area looks pretty neat...this seems like a great compromise between "downtown feel" (we'd love to live downtown, but can get more bang for our buck outside of downtown) and the space/benefits of city life (we need at least a small yard/patio for our dog). Like the idea of walking to stores, farmers market, etc. Looks like it's very accessible to the MAX which is nice b/c DH would love to sell his car and use public transit. We'll just be renting, if that makes a difference.
Thoughts?
Thanks ladies!
Re: XP; Orenco station?
I live pretty close to Orenco and LOVE the area. I have some friends that have a house right by the MAX station at Orenco and they really love the location. I highly recommend the area personally
I live in Orenco Station and LOVE IT!!! You can walk to everything. I live in the Commons at Hawthorne Village apartments which we also really like, and we are a few minutes walking distance to the Hawthorne Farms Max Station, 4 blocks to New Seasons and all the shops around there along with the farmers market which just ended the weekend before last. You can also just take the max to the hillsboro farmers market. I have always wanted to live in this area because it is so cute and everything is so close.
Let me know if you have anymore questions!
You do?! We're practically neighbors! We used to live right by Streets of Tanasbourne but now live at Cornelius Pass/Baseline
What?? We soo need to get together!

Learning to start all over again... Blog
I too loved the streets of tanasbourne area.. We lived in the Paladia Apartments. I'd probably move back to that area if we didn't have a dog
oh we probably COULD, but it would require me to walk the dog everytime he has to go potty rather than just open the back door
Also, he's in his kennel while we're at work and I know he howls for a few minutes when we leave.. I can only imagine the noise he'd make if he heard neighbors.. Plus, we have a pretty big house for only 200 more a month than we paid in rent at Paladia
