Bras too small?

I know I grew out of mine around week 9! I just found some great new, cheap bras. My SIL suggested that I just buy nursing bras since the girls arent going to get too much bigger. She also suggested the bras at Target. I went there and got some great, comfortable, cheap nursing bras. Dont get wires! Before these bras I had wires digging into me and really bad bra marks. These are such a relief.

Re: Bras too small?

  • I had to get new ones at 4 weeks! My boobs have gotten HUGE! I bought a couple at Kohl's and a couple at Target too, but they aren't nursing bras. I think once I have the baby the "girls" will be even bigger...ugh.

  • I wouldn't be buying nursing bras this early on.  I went up an extra cup size when my milk came in.  The ladies that have been there, done that told us time and time again on the trimester boards that buying a nursing bra early was a waste of money, and they were right.

Try bra extenders first.   If you really go up cup sizes, get cheaper bras at Target or something to get you through.

  • I went from a B to a D during my first pregnancy then to a DDD when I was nursing. I wouldn't encourage you to get nursing bras just yet. HTH
  • I have large breasts to begin with, so when the PG symtoms really hit, the sensitivity was unbearable, making bras feel like they were suffocating. I finally broke down and got a size up at Target. Oh gosh.... they feel so much better!!!
  • Well, if these nursing bras dont fit when the milk comes in, I will have BIGGER problems than that - Im already at a DD.....great!

The good thing: the bras were 12.99, so regardless, I dont think its a waste of money.

  • I am in state of disbelief daily as my breasts continue to get bigger. At 4 weeks my bras didnt hide my nipples anymore. I went to the store and I got a maternity bra (abandoned my underwire for the first time since I was in high school (- I am pretty thin normally but for some reason have boobs in a size C-D depending on a difference of 5lbs in weight gain).....I also got one nursing bra but it was one of those really stretchy types that would allow for a cup sized increase which is expected once I nurse according to the sales person. The woman says my bra size will go up to an "E" can you believe that? That is the stuff of playboy centerfolds not normal women like me!!!  I nearly fainted when she said that!

I am with the rest. Go for cheaper until you are nursing then buy them. That is what everyone is saying.  I think there is a totally unethical scam being played on pregnant women.  I was doing some comparison shopping the other day and you can get a pair of regular, non-maternity leggings for $12....maternity leggings are $54.  Tell me what makes one pair worth $42 more than the other in such a simple piece of clothing other than capitalism at its worst?  Dont be scammed girls!

  • Funny that you ask. I am going tomorrow to look for new bras. My gosh the underwire is killing me!!! OUCH

  • I have a feeling I'm going to be there soon!
  • I'm really sore and the underwire is killing me but so far they haven't gotten much bigger....which in my case is too bad because I could really use some growth over here! :)
