Yes, DS got his first round last week and gets the booster in a month. ?I talked to our pediatrician about it at length, and he tends to get sick very easily and have to fight hard so we went for it.
The risks are very minimal; if any, they are usually soreness from the injection, and low grade fever. Very rarely, people have allergic reactions, which can be serious. Since the flu shot does not contain live flu virus, you cannot get the flu from the shot.
Babies and young children are at increased risk for serious complications of the flu, so any risk involved with the vaccine are almost always outweighed by the risks of getting the flu.
DS just got his first flu shot last month. 3 days after he got the shot, he ran a slight temperature, was super fussy, Exorcist puked up everything in his stomach a few times, and had trouble sleeping. This only lasted for 2 days and then he was back to normal. (He has had no fever or side-effects to any of his other shots, just the Flu shot)
Did get it - pedi said there are no risks but soreness and fever. He got a fever for 2 days and had to stay out of daycare b/c of it (was a fever of 102 or so). I am not sure on the h1n1 vaccine.
Re: Risks to flu shot? Did your LO get it?

Both my kids get the flu shot every year.
No flu shot here. No H1N1 either.
We didn't get the flu shot - DH and I never do and kiddo is not in daycare. Plus I'm still nursing and will be through flu season at least.
FWIW, Pedi did not encourage it at all based on our circumstances (nursing, no daycare, etc).
