long, skinny baby clothes issues

DD is long and skinny and we are having issues finding clothes that fit.  She's too skinny to wear pants.  They literally fall right off of her.  She's just about to outgrow her 3 mos. footed sleepers, but it seems like there is a huge jump to the 6 mos sleepers.  She swims in the 3 mos. as it is, but length-wise they are perfect.  I don't know what i'm going to do once she is too tall for them.

Anyone else have a long and skinny one?  Any brands I should look into?  I fear this is going to be an ongoing problem as I am 6' and DH is 6'8".

TIA

  • We have this problem too. Today LO has on a 3-6 onesie, and nb pants... which are too short, but don't fall off of him...

  • We have this problem too.  DD is in the 90th percentile in height and 25th in weight.  Luckily she was in just onesies all summer.  We found that the Restoration Hardware Baby sleepies and Carters seem to be the skinniest but she is still swimming in her 6mo jammies.  We are moving into the 9 month ones soon...

  • Yep we have this issue. DS is a string bean. We made the jump to 6 months clothes this weekend and about out of his 3 month sleepers, we will make that jump tonight. I roll his pants in order to keep them on him, sad but true. For sleepers we do children's place because they have the zippers and they have elastic that goes around the ankles so his feet stay in the footed part. For pants, Wal-Mart seems to work because they are elastic waistbands.
  • B was in the 90th percentile for height and 25th for weight at his last appointment - he is also a string bean! Yesterday I put a 3 month Carter's outfit on him, picked him up off the changing table and the pants slid off. Poor kid. He's been living in Children's Place onesies and Circo sleepers when we don't go places.

  • I don't have this problem (DS is only 4th percentile for height!), but someone posted these sleepers the other day and they might work for you:

  • We also have this problem but someone suggested cutting the feet out of the sleepers and using socks.  We may try that if I can figure out how to use my sewing machine.  Also think I might try just using onsies and leg warmers instead of pants at least while at home.
