Then actually seeing the doctor at appointments? I have an appointment at 5:30 and I am dreading it because it is with the dr that ALWAYS runs late and I don't want to sit until 6:15 to see him for 5 minutes.
I'm venting, really. I know that's just the way things are at all of the big practices around here and I don't expect it to change. This doctor is always behind because he takes as long as needed to address all of his patients' concerns. With other doctors, I am called back right away. But I don't want to sit in a waiting room tonight! ![]()
Re: Does anyone else spend more time in the waiting room
::raises hand::
Its ridiculous!
Yes. I've started to call ahead to find out how late my OB is running (always at least 1/2 hour). Then, I can adjust my schedule accordingly and don't have to rush there only to sit.

At the very 1st appt I went to the lady that handles the insurance told us which doctors were notorious for running behind and which ones did a great job of getting people in on time. I try to schedule appts for first thing in the morning or either on Saturdays. So far doing it this way I haven't run into any problems.
I have been there though esp with my old PCP and it was incredibly frustrating!
Same here. We've tried first thing in the morning and end of the day when I'm scheduled with actual OB. My next appt is in a couple of weeks and because of DH and my schedules, we set it up with the nurse practitioner we saw on our original visit instead of OB. When we saw her before, she was on time, so here's hoping!
For me, it really depends on the day and which doctor in the practice I'm seeing. They have me rotate OBGYN's for my appointments and I've noticed that with some I wait for a long time, others I don't.
It always seems that I have to wait forever in the waiting room. If I get to the office early or on time, I always end up having to wait anyway. Sometimes it's only 15-20 minutes, but I've had to wait an hour before. It really stinks, but I like my practice and there's not much I can do about it.
The other bad thing is that sometimes, even after I get back into the patient room, I STILL have to wait for the doctor to come in and see me. But, usually this doesn't take as long as the wait in the waiting room.
Thankfully, no.. my doctor is usually always on time and will stand there and answer any questions I have until I'm done.
Kristin, where are you delivering?
