it's official - we have 2 heartbeats! a pic from today's ultrasound is below! Doc said everything looks great.. although he did notice that one of the placentas was leaking some blood into my uterus.. but he did not seem concerned.. of course I am freaked out and hope it's not indicative of something more serious... has anyone experienced this before? does it resolve on its own? other than that, I am still really really sick (MS).. I couldn't keep anything down at all yesterday.. I called the on-call doc yesterday and she said to just keep drinking fluids.. so far today, I have gotten sick twice.. I got a script for Zofran and will pick it up on lunch!

Re: Update on baby bears.. PIP
11 months
I'm still pretty ticked at my boss.. but whatevs.. I only have a few more weeks here and then the place shuts down... he's like.. "how ya feeling" and I'm like "COULDN'T BE BETTER" lol..... oiyyyy
When I was pregnant with DS I had a bleed at the site of the placenta. I never experienced any external bleeding. I wouldn't have known about it except for the early u/s. Needless to say all went well as he is 3 months.
My sister bleed red with both her pregnancies. It was determined both times it was due to a bleed at the placenta. The bleeding lasted a couple of hours before turning into spotting. The spotting lasted a few days. She carried both to full-term and now has a 3 year old and a 1 year old.
It is hard not to worry. Focus on the good news though...2 heartbeats! Congrats.
thanks for the reassurance! I only had red blood one time (and was put on bedrest for 48 hours) then it turned to brown spotting and it's pretty light... doc said I don't have to come back till next Monday.. so he can't be thaaat worried! I'll just keep praying that all is well....
yikes - sorry your m/s has kicked into hyperdrive.. hopefully the rx will help you out.
but yay for the official two heartbeats!!! :-D

they determined at one of my ultrasounds when I was pregnant with Bruce that I had a placental bleed (they called it a placental lake or something like that). They monitored its size for a while and determined it was nothing big, no reason to worry. I don't think they noticed it until I was much further along, though, probably over 30 weeks. I wonder, now thinking about it, if that could have been the cause for my early bleeding. Hard to know, I suppose.
Yay for two heartbeats!
Yay!
Hang in there w/ the MS, Mar. It'll get better, I promise!
Wow, I have heard that MS with twins can get petty bad, I hope the zofran works for you it worked well for me. However do try drinking ginger tea it helps. Be sure to ask what insurance will cover because I was taking zofran as directed and when we went back for a refill they said the insurance company wouldn't cover a refill yet.
So ask just so you know and maybe you can get you doc to talk to your insurance company if you need more than they allow.

Yay Marbear!
I had the placental bleeding on and off throughout my pregnancy. For me it meant red/pink spotting and getting to go to the maternal/fetal medicine doctors (as well as my regular OB) for extra ultrasounds every month or so. I was also placed on modified bedrest several times. I had "pools" of blood in my placenta they said that would leak and cause the spotting. DD was completely fine and healthy throughout the whole ordeal. Best of luck to you and the bears!
I'm way past all things sucky, seabands, crackers, ginger ale, B6/Unisom......
I'm glad the jolly ranchers work for you though - that's awesome!!!!
Yay-heartbeats are the best!
I had a little something like this when I was pregnant with #2. He is now 14 months old and almost as big as his 2 1/2 year old brother! Your kiddos will be great!
Yay for two glorious heartbeats!! - gave me chills to read, so very exciting for you!!
Poop on your m/s giving you hell!! Hope the meds kick in straight away for you!
GL with the bleeding, from what others have posted, I hope it just clears itself up!
