Re: help - seasonique bc = no period??

  • isn't that the point of seasonique?  1 period a year?

  • When I have taken my generic BC before for three months straight my "periods" were very light and lasted just a couple days.

Yeah I thought that was why it was called seasonique, because you only have 1 period a season...

  • When did you take the last pill?  When I take BC pills, I don't get my period until several days after I take the last real pill.

  • To the ladies questioning the whole seasonal thing: I don't take Seasonique but I'm pretty sure one pack = 3mos worth of pills.

To answer your question, I read a bit about it when I decided to go back on BCP and do remember it saying your periods may be light when you get them. Since it's your first pack I would expect it to be screwy but there's no harm in calling your dr to get a professional opinion. GL!

I dont understand why you already took a pregnancy test if you didnt even take the last pill until last night. Why would you think your period should have started already?

Then you shouldn't expect a period for up to another few days.  But you have another pack to start?  Then why are you waiting on your period?  Isn't the idea to start the next pack right away?  I'm confused.

Seasonique is the one where you take 12 weeks of regular pills followed by 1 week of very low dose estrogen pills.  There are no placebos.  It's supposed to give you a very light period.

For the op, I would go ahead and start your next pack as scheduled.

  • i'm no help here, but everytime i see seasonique mentioned i think of that hilarious SNL skit.  please tell me i'm not the only one.
  • I would assume that since it is just your first pack, your body is just still adjusting. Start the next pack on time. Take another pregnancy test in a week if it would put your mind at ease, but I think what you have experienced is probably totally normal.

  • I'm no help because I'm on loSeasonique and I've had a period for the last 13 days! And...I'm only on week five of the first pack.  Spotting is normal but this is ridiculous!  If I were you, I would call the doc in the morning just to make sure.
