I cannot believe its been a month since I've posted basically. Really we have been sooooo busy and time has just flown by. I miss you ladies so much! And I really need to try to get on more but its been rough getting much time to do anything.
Unfortunately, we are dealing with colic and GERD/reflux (again! Aodh?n had it too). And on top of some PPD on my part as well. So its a bit overwhelming in our house right now. We are having a really hard time getting Eir?k to sleep on his own or in the bassinet at all as well. I'd love any advice on that if anyone has anything to add (promise we try swaddling, incline, waiting until deep sleep, putting in bed BEFORE fully asleep, rocking, etc etc etc). I feel like somehow I'm just an idiot when it comes to newborns or something because we couldn't get our first DS to sleep on his own either. But then maybe its just the colic? We finally did get a Rx for Zantac for the reflux so we'll see how that works, if at all...didn't help Aodh?n.
BUT...now that's all the ack! crazy stuff going on. On a better note, I have a serious chunky monkey. If anyone remembers, he was 7lbs 3oz when we left the hospital and had dropped alot from his birth weight of 7lbs 12oz. Well at the docs office yesterday he was a whopping 9lbs 3oz already! But its no surprise really to me since he is wanting to eat AT LEAST every hour if not more!!!! Which of course makes more a long day when you are exclusively BFing. But he's really doing great. And the moments that he isn't in a colic fit, he really is a great little guy. And we are so so in love with him (of course BIG brother thinks that its "his baby" and is quite protective).
Again I miss you ladies...hopefully I can try to keep up with checking things out on the board as we fall more and more into a routine soon. Its getting there...I think.
Re: Haven't posted in a while...update, vent, advice?
I'm so sorry you're going through so much. What really helped M was to have a transition object. We gave her the "inclined to sleep" from bru. She used it in our bed, the bassinet, crib, couch, etc. Anywhere she slept, she used it. It made everything consistent you know?
I would maybe try a blankie or lovie of some sort. That can be her consistent thing. Maybe try a t-shirt you've worn. Hope that helps.
Also at 6-8 weeks they go through a growth spurt. So that may have something to do with what's going on as well.
See you soon!!
