I saw your posts about couponing on the SAHM board... I was wondering if you could tell me what websites you use and where you get your coupons from!! Your trip to Kmart was pretty fab.
The ones I check daily (or multiple times per day if I'm bored) are:
www.hip2save.com
www.dealseekingmom.com
www.freebies4mom.blogspot.com
The first two are the best and basically here's how it works. Anytime you come across a coupon online, print it. Find one in the paper? Clip it. Buy a box of crackers at the store and see a coupon sticker on it? Keep it.
These girls go through and they look at what's on sale at a given store. Let's say Yogurt goes from 1.00 a container to .69 cents a container. The girls will tell you, "Hey, remember that coupon from the newspaper two weeks ago? It was for 75 cents off a Yoplait yogurt." You go through your coupons and because you're collecting them all, you're likely to have it. Take it into the store and boo-yah, you get yogurt and the store owes you 6 cents.
It takes a lot of time but I really enjoy doing it, so it's my new little hobby... and it can mean big savings for you!
Hope this helps and if you have any questions, let me know! I'm still new at it but getting more info all the time!
Thanks for explaining it to me!! So basically, clip every coupon/print that you think you'd use... then see what pops up at the sales to magnify your savings? I'm definitely going to start doing this!!
Yep, exactly. Just clip the ones you'd use and then check those sites daily. They'll post things like I described and then you can flip through your coupons and go "Oh, sweet, i haev the yogurt one." I keep track of it daily so when I make my grocery trips I have a list of all the good deals I want to get.
Although I might be upgrading to a 'binder' at some point, right now I use a coupon book that I picked up at the Dollar Tree. They have them, in our store, over by the kitchen utensils and they were really cute. It's working fine for now.
And you don't even have to pay attention to the sales... these websites do it for you, as far as matching up coupons to weekly store sales. It's really easy, it's just really time-consuming and it can be a little addicting. But hey, you're saving big bucks.
I'm thinking I have a new hobby!! Thanks again for sharing. I'll be getting a coupon holder today. Oh and just my little tidbit, I go to mommysavesbig.com and it lists all of the free samples out on the web right now. I've gotten everything from cereal to Scope and she updates daily as well!
