*Today?s Question*
TGIF!!! What has been the funniest moment of this pregnancy?
Re: MoMs to Be Friday Check-In
Update: Well, as you probably already saw from my previous post, my OB sent me straight to the hospital to be admitted at my routine appointment yesterday. I was dilated to 1.5cm and 70%effaced as of yesterday. I'm on mag again and some new med that I can't remember the name of. I'll be checked again in afew hours and see if I've dilated anymore. Everything is pretty up in the air right now. I could be here for a few days, or likely for the remainder of the pregnancy...how ever long that may be.
Q: The funniest moment of my pregnancy so far was a very humbling experience I guess. During my last hospital stay they had me in a very small room b/c they were so busy. The ob came to do an ffn and the bed had no stirrups and lighting was terrible. I ended up with my bum elevated on 3 pillows and a nurse shining a flashlight between my legs. It was so odd and awkward that I just had to laugh. Oh the fun of becoming a mom.
I will continue sending positive vibes your way.
Update: Nothing new for me. Have another growth scan a week from today with my peri. I haven't had an appointment in a week and a half and it feels like an eternity.
Q: The funniest moment of my pregnancy so far was when I found out I was having twins. The doctor was performing an internal ultrasound because I had a bleeding scare, and he spun the machine around and I saw the two babies and I was in shock for about 15 seconds. The first thing I said was "How did this happen?" Ha - I must've sounded so ridiculous!
AFM, had peri visit on Monday. They're thinking two girls but not positive due to position of babies. I'm holding out hope one might be a boy. DH already said if it's two girls I might as well "cut his b@lls off" because there will be so much estrogen in the house. LOL. I go back on Monday the 12th for another cervix check so hopefully it'll be more obvious then. Other then that, already salivating at the thought of sharing an ice cream birthday cake with my mom on Sunday. She's turning 63 on Sunday and I'll be 28 on Wednesday. The only presents I wanted are already baking in my belly
QOTD: My funniest moment was one of pregnancy brain. I poured my dog a bowl of water and then proceeded to get him his food; except instead of putting it in his other bowl like I've been doing for the past 8 years, I dumped it right in his water. It was comical and I enjoyed laughing at myself.
May I please be added to the list?
EDD 5/12/09
Thanks!
I think my only update is that I am 25 weeks today!! It always feels good to complete another week : )
Like some of the pp's... I immediately thought of my hubby and I laughing the u/s when we found out it was twins! The laughing lasted a good 10 minutes and the tech said "I'm just glad you're laughing and not kicking me or something!"
Another close 2nd: At the following u/s (which our 2 boys were at), our oldest all of a sudden shouted "We're having twins!!!" in a combination of an ecstatic and desperate tone. The tech laughed really hard and said "is that what Daddy said when he found out?"
j.h.mommy - Hang in there!! We're all thinking of you : )
Update: I had my first NST this week... it took about 2 hours because my sweet little babies didn't want to cooperate. I hope it doesn't take that long every time!! We have both of our baby showers this weekend, so I can't wait to finally get a little more prepared!
Question: We've had a lot of funny moments so far, the most recent one that comes to mind is my husband putting his hand on my belly (which he doesn't do very often) he just got this look of shock on his face. When I asked why he said, it feels so hard, like a watermelon.... doesn't that hurt!! I just had to laugh, he really thinks it's so easy to grow 2 babies!!
Update: I'm moving into appts every two weeks now until 32 weeks and then I will go every week. Both babies are over 2lbs (2.4 for Baby B and 2.1 for baby A) We've also named them- Joshua Robert and Emma Sophia. Middle names are my grandparent's names.
QOTD: Finding out it was twins was pretty funny because DH couldnt figure out why I was holding up two fingers during the ultraound, he apparently thought I was flashing him the peace sign. The other funny moment was when we went to register at BRU. I still cant believe we didnt break anything by trying to open and close strollers, unlatch car seats, figure out cribs. I was seriously laughing so hard when DH spent about 10 minutes trying to collapse the stroller.
Hi everyone!
I am 36w and off of work now, yippee!
I can't think of anything funny! we do laugh at the sheer size of my belly quite often, tho!
Update: At the Dr. this afternoon they estimated each baby to be 9 oz (slightly bigger than scheduled!). She also gave us the genders but they are tucked away in a secret envelope until we have friends and family over.
QOTD: DH got a huge laugh at the eVite we just sent out inviting everyone to our "Baby Sex Party" where we will reveal the genders of the twins.
Updates: Thanks to all of your reassuring posts after our 34 wk appt. and Twin A lagging behind in her weight. I go Mon. and Thurs. for BPPs and then a growth u/s on the 15th. Keeping confident she will catch up to her sister and be a heftier weight at the 36 wk mark!!
QOTD: At 32 weeks, my pg sister (at that time, 35 wks with a singleton) and I went shopping. NONE of the maternity clothes I tried on would fit properly over my straight out bump. Everything, of course, fit perfectly on her. We keeled over when I tried a top she had already put on and the bottom of my bump was sticking out of it...exposed to the wind. In my next life, I need to create a maternity line for multiples' bumps..or convince Liz Lange to incorp. us mega-bumps into her Target maternity line!
SOOOO, we found out today we are 13 weeks 1 day pregnant with TWINS! ?Due 4-8-2010 (Docs goal is to make it to March...had our ds at 29 weeks)? So, today was my first u/s. My dh came and we were there and told I was going to have a vaginal u/s. Ok, I never had one but I was kinda like ok.?Well, I was laying there and the nurse walks in and said "Are these my twins?" and she chuckled. We kind of chuckled. Then she explained that usually they have 4-5 patients with multiples and now had none. I was like ok.?Well as soon as she asked that, my doc said "Yep" I chuckled thinking ha ha ha funny joke. Then he was like "no, really"??So, I looked over on the screen and I was like holy crap, there are 2 heads....??We are both really nervous because I had my ds at 29 weeks and now we are really worried about the babies.??Supposed to start progesterone shots at 16 weeks but found out today my insurance does not cover the meds and we cant afford them but more than ever, we NEED them. Insurance says its not a necessity because they are hormone shots and 'optional' but in this case, they ARE a necessity.?Praying hard! God Bless!!!
At our big US the doc saw a cyst on baby B's brain as well as something else that didn't look normal to him. They rechecked it on Monday. Another peri was there and took a look and said that he didn't see anything abnormal and wasn't concerned. So that was good news.
Nothing crazy funny, but I got a kick out of DH when we went for our first appointment and my OB did a pelvic exam and transvaginal us. He just looked so shocked and uncomfortable when he had to witness what we go through.
