It's a boy name. There may be other origins to the name, but it is a version of the Irish name Fionn. There's a Finn (Fionn) MacCool in Irish mythology.
Boy. Reminds me of Noah's friend in The Notebook. The first full name that came to mind was Finnegan . . .

my first reaction is boy, but I'm one of the few who actually like boy names for girls. But if you like Finn or Finley for a boy, maybe Fionna for a girl.
Boy, I like it. My son's middle name is Griffin. (Would have been his first name and would have been DD's name if she were a boy.) I like it so much that occasionally, I look at Max and call him Finn, to see if he likes it better. Since he's only 5 months old, he hasn't told me yet.

"Normal day, let me be aware of the treasured day you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart...let me hold you while I may."
My first reaction? My little brother!! haha. He is 9. His name is Finn, not short for anything. Be prepared, if you do use this name, EVERYONE will ask you what Finn is short for. It's also funny, my brother Jack is 17; now a days, both Jack and Finn are SUPER popular names for little boys, but they certainly were NOT when my mom chose them for my brothers 17 and 9 years ago respectively

some people have started using finley (traditionally a boy's name) for girls, though.

Boy.
Finley sounds like girl to me.
Boy (Do you watch Glee?)
I'd say Finley is a girl though.
shark.
Oh, sorry- boy. Short for Finley.

Except that is spelled Phineas, not Finneus.
Boy.
It can stand alone, or be a NN for Finley, Finneas (or Phineas), Finnian.
I like it. It reminds me of the Irish film Waking Ned Devine, which had a cool guy named Finn in it.
It can also be spelled Finlay, or short for Finnegan.
I think of it as a nn for boy or girl.
Finneus - boy
Finnegan - boy
Finley - girl
