Do you think of a certain ethnicity when you hear....

Amelia? My DH thinks the name sounds like a certain ethnicity (not ours) and therefor ruled out the name. I totally disagree!  Do you think of a certain ethnicity when you hear it? I just think it's a pretty name. TIA!

    I don't think Amelia is an ethnic name and no specific ethnicity comes to mind when I hear it.

    Thanks ladies, I agree with you. DH thinks the name sounds hispanic. He says it's not true, but I'm guessing he's only known 1 Amelia in his life and she was probably hispanic. Who knows!?!

    my guess is your hubs isn't very fond of the name and using that as an excuse which is unfortunate cuz it's a very pretty name

    If I had to guess an ethnicity, I'd guess Caucasian, since it's a German name.

    if anything I think it's more English--as in England;  I work w/lots of Hispanic people and have never met one w/the name Amelia
