If you were induced, how long between when you got to the hospital and when you acutally had your baby? Did you deliver vaginally or did you have a c/s?
I'm being induced on the 13th, and I would love to hear some of your induction stories.
I was induced at 39 weeks and it was a great experience. I was settled into my room and started signing paperwork a little after 7 am, the Pitocin was started and my water was broken around 8:15, I started contractions at 8:30, and I delivered DD vaginally at 2:47 pm.
Well, mine was a horror story...Skip the rest of this post if you don't want to read a story that wasn't positive. It took us about 48 hours and it was a c/s.
I went in Sunday night at six p.m., and was checked by a doctor at eight. Still no dilation, nothing. So we started cytotec every four hours, sometimes six in between because I started mildly contracting. By Monday afternoon I was 3 cm and we could start pitocin. I had an epidural, pit was started, day went fine. Monday evening the baby's heart dropped because he had a reaction to the high pitocin level, so they rushed me to the OR and broke my water. The next day they gave me an epi bollost, and upped the pitocin. It was up to an eight and I was writhing around on the bed because the two bollosts didn't work, so they went to re-do my epidural. It finally worked, I got an hour of sleep, they checked me, I was at a ten.
My doctor arrived and I pushed for two and a half hours, which was hard because they kept wanting me to change positions and I had to crawl over a ton of cords as they pushed up the pitocin again. At one point my IV came out and they had to re-do it in the middle of pushing. FInally I told them I couldn't do it and I wanted them to either kill me or give me a c-section. During the c-section, they found out my baby was wedged so hard in my pelvis that they had to cut farther than usual, meaning every baby after Henry will (thank GOD) be a c-section birth. Apparently I have a narrow pelvis.
I was almost 2 weeks past my due date and had been dialated 3 cm for 3 weeks and 80% effaced... I went in at 7am, started pitocin... doc broke my water at 11. Epi at 3, pushed from 5-7, c section at 7:30 due to baby not coming down.
I was induced at 37w5d due to PE. Went to hospital at 10:30am, had several tests, and started cervadil at 3:30pm. Water broke at 10pm and went rom 3-10cm in 2 hours. Had DS at 4:38am vaginally with vacuum and episiotomy. He came out on last try before going to emergency c-section.
i was induced due to hbp 2 weeks early with pictocin at 6:30am ...water broke at 8:30am and had my baby at 2:56pm.
i got the epi shortly after my water was broken....docs orders... the pain caused my blood pressure to spike to 170-ish over 90-ish [[high risk for stroke/ heart attack]]
DD wasn't moving or handling contractions well.... they were considering c-section...i dilated from 5 to 10cm within 30 minutes.. and i pushed three times.... less than 30 seconds..hehehehe and my beautiful daughter was here!
hope you have a great induction! i had it kinda easy honestly! my epi wore off randomly though... sucks! lol... i had them re-do it.
every induction is different but thats mine! hope that helps!
Got to the hospital for induction at 4 AM. Pitocin was started at 4:45 AM but was turned on and off throughout my labor due to LO's heart rate dropping. Connor was born vaginally at 12:54 PM.
I was induced at 38 weeks and completely closed up. We started with cervidal at 2 pm and then my water broke at 4:30 am. Pitocin started at about 9 am and then it went slowly. Epidural at 4:30 pm, but they turned off the pitocin and forgot to turn it back on until about 7, I was 8 cm at 4:30 and then ready to push at 9. DD was born at 9:34pm. No complications and it was a great experience. This is my first so I am not too sure, but everyone tells me that contractions are more intense when you are induced.?

Oh, and I forgot to mention that he was born after 2.5 hours of pushing. That was the worst part, everyting else went really fast. Only had pitocin at the very end of pushing phase.
Started Pitocin at 11am water broke 10 min later. The anesthesiologist was tied up so I didn't get the epidural until 3:30. I will be honest with you because I don't tolerate pain well they gave me nubane prior the epidural at 1:30. Around 5pm they came in and shut off the pitocin because DS's heart beat was dropping along with my blood pressure (kinda scary). They put it on again and I had to lay on my side the rest of the time because that was the only position DS was tolerating. Began to push at 8:15 when OB said DS would not tolerate a long delivery. DS was born with the assist of a vacuum and episiotomy at 8:54 PM. Believe it or not this was way better than I ever anticipated.
I was induced at 37 weeks for PE. I went in at 3pm Monday, started Cervadil at 6pm. Started contracting on my own, but they started Pitocin at 8am and broke my water at noon. I got my epidural at 6pm, but at midnight the epidural wore off on my left side and never came back no matter how much they moved me. I started pushing at noon on Wednesday and 3 hours later on the third vacuum attempt she was born at 3:01pm.
I was induced on my due date. Went into the hospital at 10 pm on a Monday night. I had to do 2 doses of Cervadil that were 12 hours each. Got the epi at about 11 pm on Tuesday. They broke my water at 8 am on Wednesday morning and started Pictocin. I delivered vaginally at 2:33 pm on Wednesday morning.
It was a LONG and exhausting experience, but overall it wasn't that bad.
I was super nervous about an induction. But, DD's eviction notice was served and she needed to come out. I went in to the hospital the Sunday after my due date, at 6pm. Started the meds to soften my cervix (i cannot recall the name of the drug). Got the Pitocin at 6am. They broke my water at 8:30. Received epidural right afterwards. Had DD at 5:44pm, after pushing for 45 minutes.
I was very lucky for a complication-free delivery. I wish you the same!!
Mine isn't pretty either...
Went in Mon night for 1st dose of cervadil, contractions began around 2am and my water broke 4 am (Tuesday). Since my water broke they decided to go without 2nd dose of cervadil and proceed to pitocin. Had my first epi around 10a or so...dialted about 1 cm every 4 hours. By 7p they lowered pitocin to increase little by little and they turned me from left to right every 45 min. By 9p or so I made it to 9/10 cm to start pushing. By 11p, oxygen, 3rd dose of epi, hbp, and high heartrate I decided to call it quits and told them to tell the doctor I wanted c/s (LO had not moved with all my pushing). DD was born Wed 2am.
GL!
I was 2 cm dilated and 75% effaced. Water broke on its own, started Pitocin at 1AM. Tried to go without pain meds and lasted about 12 hours. Things just weren't progressing though and I felt like I couldn't take it anymore, so I got the epidural. (A lot of people say that the pain of contractions is stronger when induced.) After getting the epi, I was ready to deliever 4 hours later. Everything was fine after that.
Arrived the night before at 7 p.m. and was given cytotec, then at 5 a.m. was only one more centimeter (at 3), and was given pitocin, didn't move me along that quickly, so at 9 a.m. water was broken and that's when things finally moved along, went from 3 to 10 by 10:30 a.m., pushed for 30 mins, baby out by 11:02 a.m.
Re: Tell me about your induction...
They started pitocin at 8 am and I delivered vaginally at 3:38 pm.

they gave me cervadil the night before, they inserted cervadil at 11pm I slept there, woke up at 8am when they started pitocin, had my baby at 1:07pm
ETA: my water broke on its own, and he was born after 10min of pushing. I was really worried about being induced but my experience was wonderful, GL!
