I really like this name... love the Peanuts character...
But what would be a nickname for it? Or a middle name..?
Boy names are so tough! We find out in two weeks if we're having a boy or girl..:) I have an idea for a girls name, but for a boy, I'm clueless right now.
Re: Linus.
Definitely agree w/ pp: a nn is not a mandatory prerequisite.
Linus is a great name, so why not let him just go by that?
MN suggs:
Linus William
Linus Robert
Linus Gregory
Linus Edward

To paraphrase another Peanuts character..... "ARRRRGHHHH"
Not every name needs a nickname!!! Linus is great as it is. (Coming from someone who's husband is a Peanuts fanatic!)
YES!!! FINALLY!
hee hee! a few weeks ago i posted, asking why no one ever considered linus.
linus doesn't have any nicknames. except whinus, when he's being whiny. :P but we wanted nickname-proof names, so it's a benefit in my eyes, not to have one.

also, looky:
and for the record, my linus isn't named after the peanuts character. he's named for the inventor of the Linux operating system. my husband's a geek. :P and i went to college with a Linus, so I always loved the name.

What she said. It's a great name, and it's only two syllables. It does not need a nickname. If you're desperate for your kid to have a nickname, wait until you meet him and see what seems to stick, based on his personality.
Or you could call him Blanket.
