I just started a couple weeks ago and I think I'm hooked! I felt bad for the cashier today because I handed over about 15 coupons... but, I spent $23 after tax and saved $29!! Not bad at all! On top of that I got free Nestle's cookie dough, free Grands biscuits and a free reuseable Publix shopping tote bag. Not bad at all! Most of the items cost less than $1 because they were on sale and 1-2 coupons on top of that.
Oh.. and all the coupons were ones I printed off the computer this morning. I use this website: https://www.southernsavers.com/
For those who shop at publix, check out: https://www.iheartpublix.com/
Here is what I got at publix over lunch today:
Re: Anyone clip coupons?
I do! I've fallen out of routine with them, though. There are a lot of blogs that have coupon strategies, too.
And I LOVE those mashed potatoes. They are easy and good!
Honestly, I don't (not being snarky). I find that the presence of a coupon makes me want to buy something I wouldn't normally buy just to get the deal. My actual grocery lists are very different from grocery lists I make while looking at the week's sale paper!
I know people who are really good at coupons... and more power to them!!
That is how I was before... and there are a lot of things that there may be a coupon for that I don't get because I know it's not something we are likely to use.
But, I've started only getting items that are already on sale (usually buy one, get one free) and I have a coupon for so that I really get the savings. If it is a "staple" item that DH and I always have in our pantry then we'll really stock up. We've also adjusted our menu to reflect either what is on sale or what we have in our pantry already. It's help stretch the dollar a bit.
