So I wouldn't be surprised if I am gaining weight at this point. I refuse to step on the scale. DH did the grocery shopping last and bought a ton of candy. So what do I grab when I am hungry and tired (which is always)? Candy. Grr. He also bought fruit but for some reason, I can't be bothered with it. Carbs have always helped me "cope" with challenging times in the past. Looks like this is no different. Again, Grr.
Re: Sleep deprivation does not enhance weight loss.
Right?! This is exactly why I can't keep this stuff in the house.
A couple of years ago I was doing a lot of relief work as an ER vet. Those shifts were 15 hours over night. I definitely gained weight even though I was very, very careful about what I was eating. I think sleep deprivation does funny things to your metabolism
My OB actually said that to me at my 6w postpartum checkup. She said lack of sleep itself prohibits weight loss. You eat more when tired?to keep up energy?and go for carb rich foods for that.
I lost 27 lb in one week and haven't lost any since. Then I lost about 3 lb more, but gained that back. I'm stuck with 15/17 to lose to get back to my wedding weight. I figure that won't happen for a while.
I'm going back to Weight Watchers at the end of October when I'm back to work. I hope that helps me get the weight off. I want to be back at/close to goal by my 40th birthday on April 7th.

This! I have ignored the Girl Scouts for 3 years, thank you very much! And I make it a point to not buy candy or cookies. If I want cookies, my lazy ass has to bake them. But that doesnt mean ice cream wont find its way into the freezer!
One of my friends actually gained weight postpartum. I think she was almost as heavy as the 9 month mark. She ate to cope with the sleep deprivation and it just packed the weight on her.
For me, I ate, but somehow [breastfeeding via pump] I was pre-pregnancy weight by the 6 week visit.
Yep, it's a scientific fact.
I actually gained weight between 2 and 3 mos pp.
Go easy on yourself, though. I hope this makes you feel better. It was written after I weighed myself last. I'm staying off the scale for a little bit.
