We decided to start a rewards chart...

When I got home from work today, DH, my mom and I all sat down to discuss Luke's behavior. Since he goes into time out perfectly fine, sits there until he's told to get up and then gets up and does the same bad thing he did before, we decided that although e will continue time out, that it's not enough for him to stop the behavior. He actually doesn't mind sitting in time out for whatever reason.

What he does love though.....M&Ms and stickers. SO, w decided to make a reward chart by hour. So for each hour he's good, he'll get a sticker which he'll get to put in the box for that hour. Then, for dessert each night, he'll get as many M&Ms as stars he has on his chart that day. He can count to 10 now, so he'll be able to hep count them with us. We're really hoping this works!!!!! ::fingers crossed::

If it doesn't work you may need to make the rewards more frequent at first every half hour or 15 mins.    I hope the way you have it set up works for you but if not try with a shorter time period at first.

    Good Luck

    I hope it works!

I just talked to a Behavioral Management Specialist yesterday at work. She said that if they're sitting in time out and it doesn't phase them they are getting some kind of positive reinforcement while they're in it.

Where do you put him in time out? Is he around other people or the TV? Some kids like to sit and watch others and she said that could be the "reward" they're getting.

PM me if you have any questions.
