Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

Night Terrors

Tell me how long this lasted for your DC. I am POSITIVE this is what we are going through with 15-month-old DS. We have only been through 3 LONG nights of this and hoping it doesn't last much longer, but I have heard of it lasting months at a time. Any tips/advice would be MUCH appreciated!

Re: Night Terrors

  • It's been off and on for 2 months - but it doesn't happen every night.

I'm not sure what you're doing/not doing.  But, we dont' wake DS, I just pick him up, rock him, and sing until he's quiet again.

  • I just posted about this below.  We've been going through just shy of two months (yes, months) of this.  And you think you're tired!

I can't even imagine how tired you are. How do you stay sane at night. I am already losing it, myself! Have you gotten any good advice? We are expecting baby #2 in February and I am praying he is over this by then or I will NEVER sleep again!

    Good luck.

  • how long do the terrors last?

DS has been having them occasionally for a few months now - he gets them often when he's extremely tired - on days where we've been very busy, or surrounded by lots of people with no or minimal nap time.

They have lasted max 15-20 min and after goes back to sleep fairly well.
Its me that has a hard time for the rest of the night.
