Trying to Get Pregnant

No good news... HCG dropped again.

I just talked to the nurse.  HCG is 367, down from 421.  So, she says that indeed, I'm still pregnant right now, but it's not a viable pregnancy, and I will be m/c-ing soon.  She said to just wait for the bleeding, and to "take heart" because many women don't even know they're pregnant yet.  I didn't think that was a very comforting statement, but all the same, I know she's right.

I have to go back for a 4th beta level in 1 week.  If the level continues to drop, that's great.  I have to have weekly levels until it reaches 0.  When it reaches 0, then I'll have to wait for one full normal cycle before DH and I try again.

We will try again, but we will definitely wait to get excited over being pg.  :-(  I'm pretty sad, naturally, but realize that for some reason this wasn't meant to be for us this time.  I wish I wouldn't have gone to the doctor a week ago...then I would have thought it was just a short & early AF, and probably not have been the wiser.  *sigh*

  • I am so sorry. I was really hoping your levels would rise. I know how difficult this is, I have been through 2 miscarriages myself. It is so hard and words just can't fix it. I found alot of support on the Miscarriage/Pregnancy Loss boards during my mc's. You are in my thoughts today. Feel better soon.

  • I'm so sorry and I know what you are dealing with.  It's an incredibly difficult thing to explain to other people how you feel about it, but those who have been through it know exactly what you mean.  The initial excitement of pregnancy is so quickly taken from you and it's a most unfortunate feeling. I also completely understand not wanting to get excited again so quickly over being PG--I will definitely have my reservations about getting excited until I know for sure when it happens again.  Please know you're in my thoughts and I'm here (along with many others who've gone through this as well) if you need to talk.  I'm so sorry for your loss.  We'll get our sticky babies one day and hopefully soon.
