when DD needs to be moved from the infant carrier to the convertible RF, we'll move DS to a 5 point harnessed FF (probably the graco nautilus). so probably in the spring...he'll be 20-22 months old...he's already 25 lbs so as long as his growth slows, making it to that point shouldn't be an issue...
DH turned the carseat forward on DS's birthday. DS is 97th percentile for height and 90th for weight. I honestly felt bad for him because he seemed so squished rear facing.

My original goal was to keep him RFing until 2....but now I'm thinking since he's perfectly happy RFing, I'd like to see if we can get to 2.5. If we make it that far, I'm going to do it until he reaches the height limit of the seat (because he'll be nowhere near the weight limit) or when it seems like the right time to turn him - whichever comes first.
He's close to outgrowing the height limit on the carseats we have now, so I am going to buy new convertible seats with a higher back. To me, it's worth it.
My DD is tall at 12 mos she was 32inches but she is thin still only 20lbs even on a good day usually just under. So she will probably make it older than 2 because I really want her to be heavier before I move her around I don't have a magic number or age just taking it every dr appt at a time when they check her weight.

Ditto this.
DD didn't hit 20lbs until she was 15 months and even at 18 months she is only 22 lbs.
Now when I see 1 year olds forward facing they look so tiny, and I can't imagine if I had turned her then.
he has reached the RF weight limit - we leave for a long drive that day and i hope being FF for the first time keeps him occupied for a long time!
He weighs 35lbs? Holy crap!
Yeah. Tell me about it. He was 30lbs at 15 months and still not walking. I was 35wks pg and had to CARRY him. Ugh! He's off the charts and Asher won't be far behind him! I grow them big... lol
Re: facing forward
DS is still RF'ing. He's pretty tall (over 34 inches) but still totally happy.
I have no idea when we will turn him. Hopefully it will last a while longer.
