Can I give DS almond butter?

    Why is PB a no? Unless he has allergies I would say both are fine.

    I've been giving DD almond and peanut butter since a year.  I think as long as he doesn't have any food allergies most pedis say its fine.

    a nut is a nut.  if he has allergies, no.  if not, go for it.  btw, some pedis say wait until 2 oe 3 for nuts, but my thought is that if dc is allergic at 3, he'll be allergic at 1 and i think the sooner you find out, the better.

    thanks guys. So far DS hasn't been allergic to anything. My pedi said two, but I might try it anyway. Almond butter is so good!

    hmmm....to the responses.  I never asked my pedi about this.  However, SIL, who wouldn't give peanut butter until age 2, gave nephew almond butter starting at 1.  I assumed it had to be different somehow but I don't actually know.
