What did you do about twisting bands on maternity pants?

This is my 3rd pg and it has always driven me nuts. After doing the laundry, I have to get the wide elastic band all untwisted in my pants. Some of the pants don't just do this in the laundry, but also while wearing them. I'm especially thinking of my motherhood jeans which I wear A LOT. Has anyone sewn them in the front or on the sides? Some of my pants do not have the elastic sewn through and some have it just n the back.
