NT Sonogram - Need Input

We just had our NT appt. During the sonogram (I'm 12w3d) we got to see the baby very clear. But the baby was sooo active. He/She kept jumping and their little hands were over their head. At one point they popped up almost completely vertical. They actually did it twice.

Is this normal?? Are babies just moving in fluid and it's not the baby really doing all of that? Or is my baby acting unusual??

  • Normal!  Our LO could be on Dancing With the Stars if he/she wanted!

  • Aww, yeah that's normal!  Babies can be very active at that stage!  Wait til later u/s; I've had 3 this week and this child looks like a boxing bicyclist, haha!
  • Yup, normal! You're lucky, my 12 week ultrasound LO was sleeping. It's awesome to see them move. Once your baby grows a bit he won't have as much room to move and dance but you'll be able to feel it more. Enjoy!

  • You guys are great!! Thank you! LOL at the boxing bicyclist.. that is so funny.

We were really excited while watching it but as I lay here thinking about it I started to worry. This is why I love our community :)  Thanks again!

  • Totally normal ... my husband referred to lo as the "jumping bean" for about 2 weeks after our NT scan ... all over the place ... in fact, our lo was so active that the technician was initially unable to obtain the measurements that she needed ... after trying to "catch" baby in a good position to get what she needed, she finally asked that we go back to the waiting room and that I drink as much water as I could so that my bladder would be full which would then press on my uterus, thus leaving baby with less room to "jump about." After about 15 minutes, she came to get us and we were able to get the measurements that we needed. Baby at that point was all tuckered out and resting. Normal ... isn't it adorable Smile
