Yikes, I'm so scared of this one. My DS is 16 months and oh so tall and recently into climbing a lot! I have a convertible crib too and I'm pretty sure they don't make a crib tent to fit one.
Is your mattress dropped as low as it will go? Ours is lowered down to where it would be for a toddler bed and it's pretty low. Also, if you have any sort of bumpers in there, take them out! My DS must just have short legs, because although he was 34.5" at 15 months, I just don't think he can get a leg up high enough to get out of ours yet. Thank God!
Not sure I know what to tell you, hopefully it is just a 1 time thing. I'd line the floor around the crib with pillows in case it happens again, but I'd sleep him in there again and hope for the best. If he continues to climb out, guess you'd best convert to a toddler bed. Good luck!!
my ds climbed out at 13 months so we moved him to a twin bed with rails. he slept on the floor with a blanket for the first two weeks b/c he hated it but he soon climbed back in. we have a step stool there for him.
Thanks everyone...i think im going to try piutting him to bed in a sleep sack...I;m just afraid he'll lose his balance when he gets up but thats better than falling out. I can't make it into a toddler bed yet because he gets into everything! That seems scary to me too.
Re: ds climbed out of crib...heeeelp!
The problem with the crib tent is that I cant find one for a convertible crib :-(
