I don't....not at all.....I actually look about 16-18 (I turn 25 in 2 weeks) I get carded ALL THE TIME...and I've even been refused into a bar because they thought my ID was fake (I was 23!!!) People always think my DD is my little sister and WOW you should see the horrific glares I get from people in the mall when they think i'm some "knocked up teenager" ugh it just drives me insane.....and to the people who give me ugly glares in public because of how "young" i look....I might be of "average" parenting age now...but I was 19 when preggie with DD1...imagine how young I looked then!
Re: semi NBR: Do you look your age?
I look younger, for sure. The drinking/gambling age here is 19 and I get carded at least 50% of the time. As the baby bump got bigger, I was getting carded at the casino less frequently though!
Pics in bio- I'll be 27 next month.
DH and I both look VERY young (I'll be 27 in December, he will be 31). We both look closer to 22-24 years old. I get glared at and looked up and down all the time... then, their eyes wander to DH with this unapproving scowl.
It was even worse a few weeks ago... I had a horrible black eye from my dog, and people were not shy about staring at the pregnant chick with the major shiner! Cops were eyeing DH rather suspiciously too... haha!
LOL @ this.
I'm 28 and i've always looked younger. I've been carded for the most ridiculous things...i usually go out shopping in jeans, a tshirt and my hair in a pony tail so i guess that doesnt help...here are some of the things i've been carded for...
1) buying Super Glue
2) buying spray paint
3) Carded for a NC17 movie
4) Lotto
but i guess its a good thing!
I look much younger than I am but got my first pretty silver hair at the beginning of the year. I look forward to having more and won't color it like my parents do theirs. Although them coloring their hair, coupled with their young faces does make them look 15 years younger than they are.
Nope. I look probably about 5 years younger than I am. My mom took me shopping for mat. clothes earlier in the pregnancy, and we got the glares as though I were the KU HS girl being supported by mom.
I'll be 28 when I deliever.

I loved beauty school cause all the girls thought I was 22. I'm 32.
I've always looked younger than I am (hopefully this keeps up) so people side eye me especially when they notice belly and no wedding ring.
Oh well, whatever.
I always looked a couple of years younger. I get carded for alcohol, but then again, it's pretty mandatory nowadays. Once, I was carded for lotto tickets and I laughed thinking that the guy was joking. I was wearing my work id (it says that I'm a teacher) and he still wouldn't take that. I had to pull out my id!
I'm 31 now, and I people tend to think that I'm in my 20's....especially my students! They are fourth graders and when they as that question, I tell them that I'm 18. Some get it that it's impossible to be 18 (or nearly impossible) and a teacher, and others it will take time for them to get it. Then, they realize that its rude to ask how old you are. Heehee....!
Heck no. Somebody thought I was 22 or 23 today. I'm 33! I get the knocked up teenager glare too. When DH is with me it doesn't help because he doesn't look his age either. It drives him nuts too. I want to yell at the judgmental people how old I am and how long we have been married. They will think what they want anyway.
You will appreciate this when you are older. I already do.
Wow, you guys are young! I'm told I look younger than my 34 age self. Judge for yourselves. This was taken last year:
I actually was asked what HS I went to before I got pregnant...I was turning 26 and had to laugh. Also got carded buying cigars for dh. It's happening less often though, so maybe my looks are catching up.
Oh and the glares are hilarious to me. DH looks even younger (also 26). I just look the people in the eye and smile.
people usually think I'm much younger. However there are many times that I don't get carded anymore....which makes me a little sad. I turn 27 on Oct 31st.
People have always thought I looked older than I was (not much, though), and I usually took advanage of it.
I ordered drinks at a restaurant (with my parents!) at 14, never got carded at 19+ (and 21+ in the US) concerts even though I was 15/16, went to a casino with my cousins at 16, etc.
Even today, people (including some co-irkers!) think/thought i'm in my mid/late 20s (27/28 is usually the guess), when i'm actually only 21. Probably doesn't help that they know I'm engaged, and my fiance just turned the big 30.
25 is average parenting age? Wow. I thought it was young here in Louisville.
"I just look like I am." But I'm sure other people would not guess I'm about to turn 28 in Dec. Not long ago I got carded for rated R movies but I rarely get carded for anything now. I still don't have any wrinkles or gray hairs or whatever (despite a stressful job) and I'm still only 5'.
I think the biggest indicator of how old someone is perceived to be is how they dress and style hair etc. When I wear jeans and hoodies people think I'm younger, if I go out after work in my career clothes, no one bothers me about it.
I am very happy not to have to deal with getting carded all the time now (esp. as the only one in a group to get carded). I know I don't look old so I don't need to get carded to help me feel good about myself.
The worst part about looking young is its a lot like pregnancy, people feel the need to constantly make comments about it like "Oh its a good thing. You'll love it when your much older." When people say I look young I always say, "I am." When people say I look 16, I'm pretty offended because its way off in the context and its like a passive way to say that I seem immature and they don't respect me. Frankly, looking younger in my 20s is not a guarantee that I will age gracefully into the next few decades.
I guess I must be an odd ball. Most people think I'm a lot older than I am. I'm 19 and most people guess 23-25. And its even worse when DH is with me. He looks like he's 18 and he's really 22. I even got asked once if I was his mother.
