DS had his long-delayed 12m blood draw on Monday (oops, bad mommy). I was so freaked out, moreso than I've ever been for shots because they had to take 3 vials. I had to sit him in my lap and hold him super-tight, fearing the worst, but! He was such a brave little man, he didn't even cry or squirm. He didn't like being held tightly and squiggled a little at that, but the phlebotomist was making funny faces at him and he started actually giggling at her! Totally a piece of cake.

Re: Oh, and did I post about DS's blood draw?
You emailed no one or posted nothing about this beforehand? You don't have photographic evidence either?
What kind of mother?
Oh, that is so great to hear!
I have also been putting off the 12 mo bloodwork. Last time he had bloodwork it was awful. He squealed like a cat and the phlebotomist didn't seem to have experience with babies and definitely made it worse than it had to be. I almost passed out too, which wasn't fun.
that is great!
Colin had 3 vials too and he screamed so much I didn't think he was going to breathe! Once she was done though he was fine.
Of course he has low iron and possibly a thal carrier like his mommy, so we have to go back again..FUN.
They were doing standard 12mo stuff and also testing his thyroid levels (my dad has always had hypothyroidism and I was recently diagnosed as hyperthyroid, so now we have a strong family history and they wanted to check him out too). He came back clean, thank goodness.
