Toddlers: 12 - 24 Months

The Goddard School

Does anyone send their DC there? I have heard they will let you send them only a couple days a week. I am looking for something for DD part time. Do you like it? Do you send your DC PT or FT? Thanks!

Re: The Goddard School

  • DD went there from ages 3-6. We absolutely loved it & would send DS there if we needed childcare.

Edit: When DD started there, she only went PT b/c my mom also watched her. I'm not sure what they allow re: FT/PT.

  • we go there. each location may be different though. for example- at our school, they wont let you do part time until after 18 months (dont share cribs). but a school in a neighboring city does do part time for infants as well...
  • We looked at it, but 1. it was really pricey, and 2. DD was only 13 months at the time, and they wouldn't let us do part-time until she was 15 months, I think. But that wouldn't be a problem for you, obviously. ETA: I thought your DD is older. They may not let her go PT until 15mos.

I really liked it though, it was our top choice. I liked the security of it, I felt like the kids were engaged, and that the teachers had a good support system.

We looked at the Edwardsville location.

Also, dude, are you coming to the GTG or what??? (yes, I am Nest-stalking you). No pressure though Wink

Do you know if the Shiloh location is the same?

  • Yes, I love it.  We started at 5 months old, 3 days a week until recently when we moved to 4 days a week
    BabyFruit Ticker
  • my two nephews go there and they only went 4 days. I looked at them for 3 days a week but it was still stuper expensive.

  • We are in AZ and my son will be starting there in January, he will be 15 mos. We were going to do 2 mornings/week, it was $100/week. We are now going to be be doing 2 full days which it $133. As far as I know they offer PT rates no matter how old the child is.
  • We just visited a Goddard School last Friday. I really, really liked it. It is a bit more pricey than the other centers in our area, but each teacher is degreed in some sort of childhood education.  I really liked that about it.

Here a link to my post asking the same question:

Oh, and we would have him in there 4 days a week, 5 if we wanted. There was no set limit on days.

  • I looked at it for DS, but we are on the MO side.  I looked at St. Charles & Chesterfield and 1 did PT and 1 didn't.  I couldn't justify paying that much for PT care.  I needed 2 full days and 2 1/2-days.  They wouldn't charge 1/2 day so I'd have to pay full days for those or pay someone else to watch him on my two 1/2 days.

Glad to see your coming on Friday!  I wish we had more MO side Moms!

I believe it is the same w/ the PT/FT. It's something about when DCFS standards have them go from cribs to cots. They don't allow the kids to share cribs, but it's ok for cots.

There are some other centers that do allow cribs to be used by different kids, but they clean them with bleach between uses.

She's so close to 15 months, they may allow her to "transition" into the 15month room from the beginning, you know?
