That is normal to an extent. I lay awake thinking of everything that hasn't been done or whatever. If I am not careful though it can turn into a panic. When I am starting to get too worked up I just take a Unisom and that helps me get passed the anxiety.

I've been having some trouble with this recently. DD is a bad sleeper, so at first I was just dreading falling asleep at night, knowing I was going to be awakened shortly after. That turned into full-fledged anxiety before falling asleep... sometimes I lay awake for 2 hours just worrying about random things (money, moving, swine flu, etc).
I've started doing some cognitive-behavioral therapy with myself... trying to actively replace the negative thoughts with positive ones, sort out what's rational and what's not. An exercise that often helps my clients (I'm a therapist) is to list on paper everything that's on your mind, then go down and put an X through the worries you CAN'T control. Then instead, focus on what you can.
Sorry you're dealing with this... hope it's just a temporary thing!
