I have a 16 month old and in need of new shoes for her. I have found plenty of shoes for her online the are supposed to great for walkers. What's your take on these shoes? They tend to range in price from $35 - $60. Am I unrealistic for not wanting to spend that kind of cash?

Re: Recommend your toddler's shoes.
Lili wears RileyRoos. They run about $30 a pair, but I get them for $27 after I use the discount coupon that the website sends with each pair.
I buy them from Tiny Soles.
Carter James
I've gotten DD expensive shoes and cheap shoes. She walks just as well in either kind.
Target has some sneakers on sale this week for $8 and they have good reviews on their website. I bought DD a pair in the next size up to have on hand for when her feet grow again.
My DD has or has had Stride Rite, Saucony, Umi, Morgan and Milo, Target (she had a pair of sandals from Target that I bought for a trip to Florida in the early spring and she walked pretty well in them and was supported) and the cutest little pair of skechers.
I've never been to the SR outlet, but people say good things about it. I take my DD to Nordstrom, because they have a lot of variety in brands, vs. the Stride Rite store that only carries limited stock of other brands. My mom got my DD a pair of Stride Rites at their half yearly sale and I think they were under $25.
I also get DD's shoes from Zappos (once I have her sized). That's where I got her the Umi and Morgan and Milo shoes.
As a pp said, some of the shoes have been less expensive than others (the skechers and target shoes) and she walked just as well in them.
I have a variety of shoes. Pedipeds are my favorites but I've been lucky enough to find them on craigslist or one time I saw where they had a pretty good sale going on and I got them for $20. They would be the only "name brand" I would pay full price for.
StrideRites are ok, I prefer SmartFit at Payless...made by stride right for cheaper. And with BOGO, its even better and they can ship to a store for free.
Robeez are only good for early walkers but if you DD is a full out walker, I don't recommend them.
I actually really like the circo brand at Target. They have a good flexible sole.
Not a fan of keds. The sole doesn't bend enough for my kid.
Hope that helps!
Lili wears them outside with no issues. The sole is flexible and imitates barefoot walking - there are parts that are flexible rubberl. They are really great. She has only worn the Sportie style, though, not the Dakota. I really recommend the Sportie style for a tennis shoe.
Sorry, double post.
