  • In the past we have made an extra bottle and added the 1/5 to the new bottle. Keeping the extra formula in the refrig that is added to each bottle.

  • Just make the 5 oz. and let your baby not drink the last 1/2 oz. But if you really want to only make 4 1/2 oz (I'm assuming it's formula you are feeding) it would be 2 scoops and a quarter of a scoop.

  • I bought a Dr. Browns formula pitcher and make 30 oz in the morning and then pour bottles as needed. It is great for the 1/2 oz situations or the times when DD is still a little hungry and could eat 1 more ounce. I think that they are around $10, but well worth it.?

  • We put 4 oz water and 2 scoops of powder, and it always makes 4.5 oz total.?

  • I would make 5oz personally, but you can make 9oz and just split the bottles.  I have never done half ounces.

This too.  Once you add the formula to the water, it makes more than you really intend to.  It was about half an ounce when I was making 4oz, but as I increase DS's bottles it's even more than that.
