Pregnant after a Loss

excercise

Has your ob given you any guildlines or suggestions?

I usually walk but I was told today to hold off until we get that 1st u/s next week. But as long as everything checks out I can do prenatal yoga and walking (only things I asked about). But since I get over heated easily already he said that I need to stay hydrated with something cool. I freeze bottled water already to take with me when I walk to my mom's house (1.5mi round trip) to let the dogs out. Looks like I'll be getting the car a lot more :-)

Re: excercise

  • My last office said I could continue doing whatever I was previously doing as long as my heartrate didn't get above 140 (I think it was 140). I am actually making a conscious effort to stay more active this pregnancy, in hopes that it will herald a better outcome.

  • I continued to walk this whole time. In the beginning I was walking almost 4 miles a day (took about an hour), but I've cut that down to more like 2 miles a day now. When it got hot I just couldn't go as far, but now that it's cooler again it's much better. I would get too hot as well and always carried water and my phone with me. I also had to get a maternity support band about a month ago because the RLP was really bad when I walked and I was afraid I was going to have to stop - but that has helped. I think the more active you can stay the better off you'll be. I'm convinced the walking helped me not get GD. I also do prenatal yoga once a week and love it. GL to you - SOOO happy you're finally here!!

  • My doctor told me to take it easy during the first tri but said that walking was fine.  Now she says that as long as I feel okay and my heart rate stays below 150, it's fine.  I honestly planned on being much more active than I have been this pregnancy.   I didn't work out at all in the first tri, and I've really only been getting to the gym twice a weeks since week 13.  I'm hoping that once I'm done with work (which will hopefully be in the next few weeks)  I will be able to be more active while I'm still feeling energetic. GL!!
