and I keep lifting things...I just carried a large load of laundry up the stairs and now I am regretting it. I keep doing things and then after the fact realize I probably shouldn't have done that. Anyone else?
DD is 45lbs and I pick her up (on occasion) and I am fine.

If something needs to be picked up, I just pick it up (within reason, obviously... I'm not going to lift 80 pounds). But I don't have the patience to wait around for someone else to do something for me. And so far, so good.
I helped DH carry a huge roll of carpeting up our stairs and I'm fine....granted I was at the bottom just holding it up while he pulled it up the stairs...poor DH
When I take my dogs out I have to put my 25lb pug in the back because he can't jump up there himself and my 60lb boxer only gets her front legs in and then waits for me to lift her up. I have only seen her jump into the back completely on her own maybe two times since we have had the SUV.
I don't forget, but I do things that I'm probably not supposed to and hope that DH doesn't catch me. Like, lifting the dog into the car (okay, it's not like an 80-lb dead lift - he puts his front paws up on the back and I heft his back half into the car.) I lift the ottoman and vacuum under it. I listen to my body, and if I feel like I'm straining anything, I let up.
35-40 lbs is a lot of weight.

I asked my doctor about lifting at my last appointment because I am a nurse and we constantly have to lift patients. She told me that as long as it was something I was doing before pregnancy I would be fine doing it now.
I practically closed the car door on my own belly recently because apparently I have no sense of how big my body is anymore.
As long as you feel fine doing physical activities, there is no reason to limit yourself. I am very active, lift things all the time, carry ladders, etc. and I feel great.
I forget I'm pregnant and people will mention it or ask me something and it takes me a moment to remember. Or they'll say "How are you today?" in this meaningful way, but I'm just like "Fine, how are you?"

LOL. This, I have been running into counters and tables lately too.
