I heard he relapsed to his crack addiction after the plane crash, and was taking anti-anxiety/depressants. They call it the "benzo effect." It's similar to what happened to MJ.
yes but my point is that if you are smoking crack on a regular basis, then its not an accident. Especially if you are already on meds. you know the possibilities and you are looking to destroy yourself. i'm not talking about one extra pill or somebody that uses drugs in a recreational manner (ie: once in a while at parties).
believe me, i'm not talking out of my @ss. i know all to well about addiction. i wont disagree that there are accidental overdoses. but DJ AM was a junkie. he knew what he was doing. addicts know the possibilities. whether its their objective to die/OD is not the point. its the fact that they know death is possible and are willing to risk it - thereby no longer making death an accident.
tre & menz, i'm sorry for your losses. i've been through an OD w/ a good friend and my brother. thankfully they made it through. i dont mean to sound unsympathetic but DJ AMs death was clearly not an accident.

DH's sister died from a drug overdose and she was a recreational user, she very seldom used drugs (DH used them a lot more than she did). I agree with you about addicts, just saying that it it can happen to anyone who uses drugs, occasional use or not

yes i realize this. my point was not that recreational users couldnt OD. it was that DJ AMs death was not an accident because he was very aware of the risk he was taking. he had ODd in the past but survived.
Re: DJ AM's death was accidental
I thought they decided this some time ago??

imo thats no accident
what a crappy life though. it seems like the poor guy only got a few years of happiness. ?
A drug overdose is still an "accident". My cousin just od'ed & I know he didn't do it on purpose! He was caught up in the ugly hands of addiction.?
a friends (now ex) husband took ONE extra pain killer and od'd. 30 years old with a 5 year old son. sad
